Now I don't know where you live, but unless you're in the Netherlands you can probably think of a few ways that your local area could be a bit more bike friendly.
I keep reading everywhere that the Northern European countries set out to make cycling the norm and that without that sort of attitude, you've lost before you even start.
Now while I agree that actually having councils and governments that have made cycling and cycling infrastructure a priority would make life a lot easier, should we really just throw our hands up in defeat? Or are things changing but at a glacial pace?
What has been done in your area recently?
Have things improved or gone backwards?
Is there anything that you think would make all the difference and would be easy to implement given someone with a bit of backbone?
